GCS actively gives Local-Local farmers an opportunity to add value to their produce, and has also trained them to meet GCS health and safety standards.
We have created space in our main retail shop for our farmers to display and sell their products, called the Local-Local Shelf. The products so far include honey, dry beans, cassava, maize sample, seasonal fruits and vegetables.
We currently have one cooperative that has 12 members that took up the challenge, but it is open to all Local-Local farmers in Kalumbila district, and we look forward to having more farmers selling a variety of new products.
